Over 1200 islands, dream beaches, crystal clear sea. As one of the New York Times’ top 5 tourist destinations of 2017, Croatia makes the perfect location for launching the UberBOAT service.
California’s leading car sharing company launches the maritime version of on-demand transport through the Croatian islands.
Usage is of course click-ready. Submit a request through the well-known Uber app and, once you receive confirmation, you will be directed to one of the pickup points where your Captain will welcome you on board, with a life jacket and a fresh bottle of water.
The private taxi by sea had already been tested by Uber in Istanbul, Miami and Cannes, yet remaining a limited-time service for specific events. In Croatia, otherwise, it opens a permanent offer that will improve connections between the islands, a very important factor for a country with the staggering growth of incoming tourism.
Starting from Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik it’s possible to travel on an eight seats boat (Uber boat) or a twelve seats boat (Uber XL); the first one comes at a fixed rate of 352 euros, the second one at 440 euros, that can be split with other passengers via the “share the fare with a friend” option provided by the application.
Your skipper, with a certified license and verified by local charter companies, will also be able to guide you for a whole or half day to discover the natural and historical beauties of Croatia, its hidden beaches and enchanting caves. The average price for a daily eight-passengers boat trip is around 980 euros, to be calculated based on the distance travelled and the duration of the tour.
A unique adventure available for tourists and residents, uber simple: download, book and welcome on board!
