This project, opened to the public from October 2016 until October 2017, is a perfect example of how history and technology can create a real masterpiece. All this is possible by the use of 3D graphics systems: you even get to discover the bas-reliefs and their ribs, the original shades of decoration’ colors. You walk out down to the roots, until the sap of art, passion and history that make Rome such a big city. Every visitor, to enjoy the best of this show, will be equipped with a Samsung GearVR, a device of Virtual Reality which literally enhances the reality of what you are watching.

PLAYCARDS IN THE ‘900 ART. PAOLA MASINO‘S COLLECTION

ROME EXHIBITIONS 2017

ROME EXHIBITIONS 2017

Paola Masino, born in 1908, was a writer and librettist. But especially, she was an art lover, just like her husband, Massimo Bontempelli. She collaborated with him for the magazine “900” and matured really interesting friendships. From Capogrossi to Guttuso, from Pirandello to Valery, from de Pisis to de Chirico and many many others. With them she didn’t only share the artistic essence, but the passion for cards: Neapolitan, French and even Tarot.

From 1947 until her death in 1989, she commissioned to several artists from different movements the realisation of playing cards that composed the immense, symbolic and metaphysical collection that today is showed at the Museo di Roma, from December 15, 2016 to April 30, 2017. Paola Masino wrote, translated, thought and lived passionately, and we can feel all this while visiting this exhibition; books, notes, letters and photos of this Tuscan woman are exposed. A valuable contribution that only the Novecento’s Archive of the La Sapienza University of Rome could give us. Now, play your game

ARTEMISIA GENTILESCHI

ROME EXHIBITIONS 2017

ROME EXHIBITIONS 2017

This year, the Museo di Roma at Palazzo Braschi, turns total pink. From November 2016 to May 2017 the girl power is held up by one of the few women painters who wrote the history of art: Artemisia Gentileschi. Impeccable technique, virile pictorial frankness and feminine purity. Delicate lines, masterly compositions and firmed movements; Artemisia Gentileschi was a woman with a strong soul, reflexive and impulsive at the same time. In one word, she was free. One hundred works let you discover this persona, who decided to live her life as the main character. The paintings, compared to artists and colleagues of her time, were selected and edited by Nicola Spinosa, Francesca Baldassari and Judith details to leave the best memory of this great artist.

L’ANNUNCIAZIONE BY EL GRECO

ROME EXHIBITIONS 2017

ROME EXHIBITIONS 2017

Renaissance, the period in which man affirms his individuality and importance as a human being and his ability to make choices without the dogmas that obstructed him during the Middle Age. A European phenomenon, a consciousness, a reality; not a bridge between two eras, but a real break between past and present: the middle age gives way to modern times. In this years the first nonconformist figure was born: Domínikos Theotokópoulos known as El Greco, the Spanish personification of Renaissance.

Born in Crete, but El Greco lived his life among a lot of trips to Italy between Rome and Venice, to move finally to Toledo, Spain. With his Byzantine influences, Italian technicalities and Spanish insights, El Greco flows into a avant-garde spirituality: elongated shapes, dark but lit shaded colors and expressions that are so real but at the same time seems to belong to another untouchable world. At Musei Capitolini you can enjoy one of his masterpieces, “L’Annunciazione”, exhibited from January 24th to April 17th 2017.

LEONARDO E IL VOLO rome exhibitions 2017

ROME EXHIBITIONS 2017

ROME EXHIBITIONS 2017

Ambition and desire to go further, pushing the limits. Flying has always been such a big question mark that men, attracted by the desire to discover and explore something they could not perceive with their feet on the ground, have patented and designed means and methods to take flight even a few centuries before Christ. The greatest insight and more accurate studies, or at least the first and brilliant, were those of the Master: Leonardo da Vinci.

At the Capitoline Museums in Rome, in fact you can read and browse the “Codex on the Flight of Birds“. Eighteen papers bound in two covers, sketches and carefully observed the movements of the birds are kept at the Royal Library of Turin. Clipboard and technical drawings of equipment and machines can be appreciated here in Rome not only through a specially humidified box climax, but also with 3D projections of texts and drawings of the great genius. Current exhibition from 21 January to 17 April 2017

EDWARD HOPPER

ROME EXHIBITIONS 2017

ROME EXHIBITIONS 2017

Arthemisia Group strikes back and gives us another exhibition that deserves more than one visit. Edward Hopper shoots with tempera moments and stories. It leaves you in a deafening silence, full of sounds and stories. He paints landscapes feelings in words that could not be told nor explain. There are key points or solutions, you just listen with your eyes and steal every blink a sound or a detail that Hopper does not reveal it because he also is aware and will probably remain incredulous.
