A new collaboration between Bamford Watch Department (BWD) and the design firm The Rodnick Band came up. The two firms joined their efforts to create a limited customized edition of Rolex Datejust watch. With the image of Snoopy, the famous Charles Schultz’s cartoon, on the quadrant: was so born the Rolex Flying Snoopy.
ROLEX FLYING SNOOPY
Bamford Watch Department, British leading company in luxury watches customization, had already collaborated with The Rodnik Band, renowned English pop design brand, guided by Philip Colbert. Indeed in Spetember 2014 the two firms jointly launched a first limited edition of 50 Rolex Datejust watches (25 silver, 25 black) with Snoopy figure on the dial.
Owing to the great success of this first series, they decided to create a new limited edition of 25 pieces with Snoopy as protagonist: the Rolex Flying Snoopy. On the 41mm Rolex Datejust the famous Peanuts hound takes the form of a super hero. With cloak and mask. Hours and Minutes hands are Snoopy’s arms while seconds hand is a line with Woodstock: Snoopy’s bird partner in crimes, on top.
This new limited edition, thanks to MGDC ( Military Grade Titanium Coating), is hyper-scratch-resistant. And get a color between dark silver and black that emphasizes uniqueness.
“Snoopy is my all-time favorite cartoon character and it’s such a treat to release this fun design to start the new year”. states George Bamford, founder of BWD, about Rolex Flying Snoopy. “I have always sought the opportunity to create something with a twist. And over the course of these Peanuts designs I feel we’ve proved it’s possible to combine the serious world of top class technology with a light-hearted sense of unbridled joy.”
The watch case perfectly symbolizes this light-hearted (and we would say ‘pop’) sense: it has the shape of Snoopy’s dog’s bed.
TheRolex Flying Snoopy comes at a 13.000 £ price and is only purchasable on BWD website.
