There is a white diamond, hidden in the hills of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, that earth offers us for three months per year only. It’s the white truffle, that just grows from October to January. Every year, this delicacy is celebrated in Alba with an international in scope fair: the International Alba White Truffle Fair.
It is not exaggerated to consider the white truffle as a jewel. In fact, that’s what it is. Just think that to purchase a handful of grams of it you could quietly spend about 50 Euros.
Every year, Alba becomes a bright stage that shows and offers to the whole world this delicious, tasty jewel. Unlike the black truffle, the white truffle is exclusive to be eaten raw, in accompaniment with eggs, risotto, raw meat and so on. Recently, fashion suggests to directly mix it with Sauvignon wine. An experience you should definitely try.
This year, the fair starts on October 7 and finishes on November 26.
The refined claim that will accompany the fair will be: “cut out for design.” The focus, in fact, will give prominence to what the town of Alba feels more proper: the well-balanced adjustment of design, art, culture and food and wine.
