In the last few years a wave of innovation has taken over Vienna, and the hotels’ world has been ready to ride it. In this thriving atmosphere, the Grand Ferdinand opened its doors in 2015, once an office building on the magnificent Ringstrasse. A meeting point between past and future, the premises were bought and transformed into a hotel by Florian Weitzer, owner of the Hotel Daniel.
The Grand Ferdinand perfectly represents the eclectic spirit that overwhelmed Vienna in the past few years. On one side big crystal chandeliers, on the other, very bright industrial pipes. Tile floors contrasting with the leather sofa in red blood colour. Recalling tradition and innovation everywhere.
This is the very concept behind Grand Ferdinand: Celebrating tradition moving forward, both in the design and in the hotel management.
In fact, the Grand Ferdinand is a luxury hotel, yet with a cultural aim. The hotel can host guests down and up to every budget. From the 1500€ per night Suite to the beautiful 8-beds room for 30€ per night on Airbnb. The owner indeed wants to welcome in his hotel whoever loves Austria and wants to discover Vienna. Because of this philanthropic spirit, and for being the only Austrian-managed hotel on the Ringstrasse, the Grand Ferdinand had the honour of being awarded the Austrian coat of arms. Not an everyday prize.
