When you say “at full speed”. The event that all Maltese people, and foreigners, are waiting for during the year has returned to the small island of Malta. And if your expectations exceed the crunch of a good pretzel during a cool October in Monaco, the Farsons Beer Festival 2019is the perfect event for you.
One of Malta’s most revered summer celebrations for beer and music lovers. A free 10-day event – from 25 July to 3 August – bringing together the best offers from the local music scene – and fresh beer, of course! Just a few kilometers from Mdina, the beautiful “silent city”, the Farsons Beer Festival lives inside the Ta Qali National Park; an ideal location to sit and relax during the afternoon, bask in the sun or dance in the evening, after the sunset.
Malta’s Beer Festival
Once inside, you’ll immediately be overwhelmed by an atmosphere of joy and celebration. You’ll feel like being in a small “Woodstock” of the Mediterranean, among lights, music, food for all tastes, and of course more and more kinds of beer.
For all the first timers, Farsons is Malta’s oldest brewery, which produces the iconic Cisk yellow beer. This cold draft can be found in full supply throughout the Maltese’s archipelago. Every year, this favorite local drink becomes the absolute protagonist of the beer festival in its different varieties, along with many other international beers, and even cider and the brand new gluten-free beer.
With over 13 bars and well over 60 dispensers, you’ll be delighted by the beer variety on offer. And between one mug and another – which, at the extra cost of just €5, will become a nice souvenir to take home – among all these distributors of “frozen happiness”, blonde and dark, you may enjoy tasty burgers or a slice of pizza. Perhaps sitting under a tree in the dim light of the many lanterns scattered around the park, tenderly accompanied by a folk guitar sound.
Moments of Pure Pleasure
By the way, beer is just one of the festival’s faces. Walking among the alleys under the trees and turning among the stalls of ethnic objects, you’ll be fascinated by the intense scent of incense in the air, which makes the environment even more suggestive.
And again, local artists will be very happy to show their manufactures to you, recounting their history in the smallest details.
And finally, when you’ll decide to dance and jump like crazy, splitting between the Main stage and the Rock stage will seem like one of the most complicated choices made so far. Music for everyone, from Rock to Progressive, to Tribal, will brighten up your party night, maybe joined by your family or your friends. The watchword is only one: having fun.
When, at the end of the feast, lights will come back on and music will turn off, you’ll remain with the joy of having shared, between one laughter and the other and albeit only for a few moments, a mug of beer with strangers, all with the same passions.
The Farsons Beer Festival is really a must for anyone looking for a good time during a holidays in Malta.
So, will we see you there for the closing nights of 2019’s Festival? Or should we already save the date for next year?
